What, may you ask,
is "The Iran Job?"

It's an amazing story — one that I believe needs telling.
The Iran Job is a powerful documentary produced by my cousin, Sara Nodjoumi, and her husband, Till Shauder. It's about Kevin Sheppard, an American basketball player who accepts a contract to play in Iran.
Featured here on the Chieftain website, the film's trailer is moving, intriguing, and utterly hilarious! For anyone with an appreciation for film, sports, Iranian culture, or just plain curiosity about a unique country so rarely understood, The Iran Job will provide an unforgettable experience.
Sara's family and my mother both emigrated from Tehran in the 1960's and 70's — prior to and at the beginning of the Iranian Revolution. While I was born in San Francisco, I am deeply fortunate to have such a rich and immediate connection to my lineage, one that has provided an extraordinary anchor throughout an ever-challenging political climate between the United States and Iran.
I am also fortunate to have enjoyed your colorful and energetic presence at the Chieftain for nearly six years now, which makes me that much prouder to share this incredible project with you all. I've already pledged $100 — and dare you to match me!
Sara and Till are working to raise $50,000 by January 9, 2012, via Kickstarter (see the film's information provided below) in order to release The Iran Job in 2012. As of December 17, they've raised nearly $30,000, but the ball must keep rolling! All pledged amounts are welcome — and all contributions will be rewarded. How?
Read on, and enjoy the trailer!
Slainte (Gaelic)! And Salaam'ati (Farsi)!
Best to you all,
Kamile Greene
